Go back to the enewsletterVietnam Airlines has confirmed it will upgrade its daily Melbourne – Ho Chi Minh City service between 29 July and the end of October 2018 from Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft to new Airbus A350s.The aircraft shuffle will be the first time the new aircraft will be available to Australian passengers travelling with Vietnam Airlines.Vietnam Airlines’ A350 provides an extra 10% capacity than the long-standing Boeing 787, and meets an increase in demand for flights on the Ho Chi Minh City route from the Victorian capital in recent months.Similarities are seen between the aircraft types, both being long-range, wide-bodied and featuring a twin-engine, with the largest change between the planes being the increase in passenger accommodation. The Airbus A350 allows for an additional 29 passengers each way.General Manager of VN’s branch office in Australia, Hung Truong, said it was great to see an increase in demand from our Australian travellers. “Vietnam Airlines is delighted to announce the upgrade to some of the current fleet to the new Airbus,” he said.
