first_imgby Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The following are recent cases filed by the Sumner County Attorney’s office at the courthouse. •Cody Saunders, born in 1990, of Wellington has been charged with burglary, a felony; and theft, a misdemeanor.Saunders is accused of unlawfully entering Randall Jones Garage on Jan. 28 and removing tools, welder, a drill press, power washer and other items worth about $800.•Ofrael Reyes, born in 1992, of Belle Plaine is charged on Jan. 25, 2013 with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.•Dale Blachard, born in 1968, of Enid, Okla. is charged on Jan. 29, 2013 with possession of methamphetamine, a drug felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.•Don Stone, born in 1977, of Louisville, La. is charged on Jan. 24, 2013 with a headlight traffic infraction, possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.•Toni Whipple, born in 1980, of Belle Plaine is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to a child’s misconduct.On Jan. 24, Whipple is accused of possessing marijuana, and a zip lock baggie and rolling papers to store, ingest, or inhale substances into human body. She is also accused of encouraging a 12-year-old child of making a false statement to the police that the marijuana she allegedly left in the child’s pants pockets were the child’s and not her’s.•Victoria Crooks, born in 1973, of Belle Plaine is charged with forgery, possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to a child’s misconduct.On Jan. 29, Crooks is accused of writing a check under $1,000 from another person’s account at Moore’s Venture Foods.•Naaman Darby, born in 1977, of Oxford, was charged with violating a protection order.On Jan. 30, 2013, Darby violated an order issued by the court that said the defendant must refrain from any direct or indirect contact with a specific person. On Jan. 30, 2013 at 4 p.m. Darby alleged phoned this specific person’s cellphone and requested photographs of their children even though on Jan. 10 he was placed on probation with a special condition of no direct or indirect contact with the person.•Larry Webb, born in 1969, of Wichita is charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and interference with a law enforcement officer.On Jan. 6, 2013, Webb allegedly entered Kansas Star Casino in defiance of an order to leave such premises or property. Two security guards told him to leave due to his intoxication and disturbance he was causing, which he allegedly refused to do. He then allegedly resisted the arrest when the security officer attempted to handcuff him.•Larry Gormly, born in 1973, of Belle Plaine is charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property.Gormly allegedly caused physical contact with a family member in a rude, insulting or angry matter by hitting the family member’s head and arms.He also allegedly damaged a clock, refrigerator and sink drain valued less than $1,000.•Alejandro Torres-Soroa, born in 1969, of Caldwell is charged with battery, domestic battery, criminal threat, theft, and criminal damage to property — two misdemeanors and three felonies.Torres-Soroa is accused of physically attacking a male because he was with his girl friend at a Super Bowl Party at 115 W. Ave. D on Feb. 3.He then allegedly grabbed his girl friend by the coat and threw her to the ground. Torres-Soroa would then threaten to kill her if she did not get everyone out of the her black Tahoe. He then allegedly took possession of the truck and broke out all the windows and put sugar in the gas tank along with other damages.•Thaddeus Popplewell, born in 1979 and Sammi Jo Popplewell, born in 1978, of Caldwell were charged with domestic battery and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.Allegedly, both verbally and physically fought with one another on Jan. 20 over whether Sammi would be allowed to take their daughter out of the car.•Matthew Zollinger, born in 1982, of Wichita, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal carrying of a weapon, and failure to affix drug stamp — two felonies and two misdemeanors.Zollinger is accused on Jan. 3, 2013, of possessing a narcotic drug; a glass pipe and bag containing white powder used to ingest, inject or inhale into body; a firearm on his right hip he was not authorized to carry, and not having paid a tax on substances he was carrying.•Thomas Jensen, born in 1978, of Belle Plaine, was charged with failure to register as a violent offender, a felony. Jensen, according to the complaint is defined by the state as a violent offender. He allegedly did not fulfill his duties set forth by residing in Sumner County for at least six months after failing to register with the Sumner County Sheriff’s Department.•Leslie Muhl, born in 1967, of Arkansas City was charged with interference with a law enforcement and disorderly conduct – both misdemeanors.Muhl is accused of obstructing the investigation of Virgina Lee for a DUI by continuously interfering with the administering of field sobriety tests and staying in the car as instructed. She also unlawfully used fighting words to arouse and alarm others.•Danny King, born in 1958, of Wellington was charged with theft – a misdemeanor.King allegedly on Dec. 8, 2012 about 12:50 p.m. was seen loading old pickup parts in the back of his green Chevy pickup at a residence on S. Blaine. When confronted by an occupant, he told her he was working for the city cleaning up scraps around town. But when the owner came home later, he called police because King did not have his permission. King allegedly took a pickup rear end, two exhaust manifolds, and a wheel, according to the complaint.•Mikkel Hope, born in 1994, of Tulsa, Okla. is charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia – both misdemeanors on Jan. 27, 2013.•Paul Eugene Osborne Jr., born in 1981, of Wellington was charged with aggravated assault, a felony; criminal use of a weapon and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.On Jan. 28, 2013, Osborne is accused of jumping out of his car and carrying a collapsable baton to approach a male which he thought had thrown a rock at his car. He also allegedly used fighting words in the process.•Bonnie Walton, born in 1980, of Moore, Okla. is accused of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.Walton is accused of stealing a 2000 Volkswagen, valued greater than $1,000, bearing Oklahoma tags, when she stopped at the Plaza 6 gas station in Sumner County.•Marcus Sloan, born in 1993, of Oxford is accused of three counts of criminal damage to property and harassment of telecommunication device – all misdemeanors.From Jan. 29 to Feb. 6, Sloan is accused of spray painting a swastika on the side of a person’s 2009 Ram 1500 red pickup, and spray painting black lines across the rear of a white SUV. Then at Cave Park in Oxford, he spray painted a swastika and a penis on the boat ramp.Sloan is then accused of using a telecommunication device to post on Facebook of one of the victims above by saying  “You’re just a child molester and don’t want to admit it… I hope we’re in jail together sometime cuz I’m going to …. you.”last_img
